03 August 2021 Belarusian activist Vital Shyshov, who disappeared yesterday in Kiev, was found hanged.

The Ukrainian police reported, according to which the body of the man, a landmark of the Belarusian diaspora, was found in a park near his home in Kiev.

The police have made it known that they have also opened an investigation to verify whether it is a murder disguised as a suicide.

Shyshov headed the Belarusian House in Ukraine (BDU) NGO, which helps Belarusians escape persecution by Aleksander Lukashenko's regime.

According to the Belarusian House in Ukraine (Bdu), an NGO that helps Belarusians escape the persecution of the Minsk regime, Vitaly Shishov was the victim of an "operation planned by the regime" of Alexander Lukashenko. "There is no doubt that this is a planned operation to liquidate a Belarusian who represented a real danger to the regime," reads a statement accusing the Minsk secret services.
