Over the past day, 22,010 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected in Russia - this is the minimum figure since June 30.

During the same time, 18,963 people fully recovered, and 788 patients died from complications that developed against the background of COVID-19 and concomitant diseases.

Over the entire period of observations in the Russian Federation, 6,334,195 cases of coronavirus infection were detected.

160,925 deaths were recorded, 5,659,746 people recovered.

According to Rospotrebnadzor, over the entire period, over 166.5 million laboratory tests for coronavirus infection were carried out, including 311 thousand in the last day.

1.24 million people remain under medical supervision.

Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said that more than 98% of patients admitted to medical institutions diagnosed with coronavirus were not vaccinated.

“This suggests that vaccination today works, protects and saves lives,” said Murashko, quoted by TASS.

He also urged not to delay the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 if an infection is suspected: "Because we see today - by the fifth day, sometimes serious complications develop, and delaying the start of treatment is simply life threatening."

The head of the Ministry of Health also advocated the vaccination of people over 60 years old, with the exception of those who have medical contraindications, reports the Interfax news agency.

In Moscow over the past day, 1,952 new cases of COVID-19 were detected (the daily increase was less than 2 thousand for the first time since April 28).

Over the past 24 hours, 1,030 people were hospitalized, 71 died, 479 patients are at the IV, according to the capital's operational headquarters.

According to the press service of the Russian Council of Shopping Centers (RSTC), over the past two weeks after the abolition of the mandatory QR-codes system for catering establishments, the attendance of shopping centers in Moscow has increased.

“Undoubtedly, the abolition of QR codes had a positive impact on the situation with shopping centers.

Visitors in a free mode, taking into account the current norms of Rospotrebnadzor, became available to the main points of attraction in the shopping center: food courts and children's playrooms.

This made it possible to return traffic to close to May indicators, taking into account the summer vacation season, ”TASS quotes the words of the President of the RSTC Dmitry Moskalenko.

Prior to that, the RSTC noted that only in May 2021, metropolitan shopping centers reached attendance at the 2019 level.

At the same time, with the introduction of QR codes, the number of visitors in shopping centers decreased by 25-30%.

As a reminder, from June 28 to July 19, catering establishments in Moscow and the Moscow region could only be accessed with a special QR code.

It could be received by those who were vaccinated against coronavirus, had had COVID-19 in the last six months, or had a negative PCR test a maximum of three days ago.

In St. Petersburg, cases of coronavirus infection were detected among 1.7% of citizens who went through the full vaccination cycle.

This was announced on his Telegram channel by the deputy of the city legislature Boris Vishnevsky.

“I received an important response from the health committee.

860 thousand people went through two stages of vaccination (as of July 23 -

RT

).

Sick after the second stage - 14.6 thousand people.

Only 1.7%, ”he wrote.

At the same time, the chairman of the city health committee Dmitry Lisovets, on the air of the Saint Petersburg TV channel, announced a decrease in the rate of vaccination against COVID-19 from 20 to 12 thousand people per day.

“As the tension with the coronavirus infection in the city subsides, people see that fewer acquaintances are getting sick, they calm down psychologically, they begin to think that this trouble will not affect them,” he explained.

According to him, the rate of herd immunity to coronavirus in St. Petersburg approached 60%, which is the necessary minimum, but ideally it should be much higher.

In addition, Andrei Berezhnoy, a methodologist at the city center for medical prevention, said that a second street tent will open at the Primorskaya metro station in the coming days, where residents of St. Petersburg will be able to get vaccinated against COVID-19 without an appointment.

Prior to that, a similar tent appeared in the park of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg.

In addition, it is planned to open a mobile vaccination center near the Moscow railway station in the Gallery shopping center, which will be able to vaccinate up to one thousand people a day.

In addition, the infectious disease doctor, chief physician of the Leader-Medicine medical center, Evgeny Timakov, spoke about the features of the postcoid syndrome (which manifests itself, among other things, in the form of weakness, memory impairment, headaches) in cases of SARS-CoV-2 delta strain. According to him, the mutation, first identified in India, more actively affects young people, which has led to a "rejuvenation" of the postcoid syndrome.

“The delta strain is not fully understood, but we know for sure that young people and children are getting sick more, although the elderly are also at risk.

Postcoid syndrome will now "get younger".

Most likely, it will more affect the central nervous system and will have a very strong effect on immune factors.

Children after a previous coronavirus infection will get sick longer.

The influence on reproductive function in young people is being studied, it is still in question, ”he said on the air of Sputnik radio.

According to him, vaccination can help protect against postcoid syndrome.

“Preliminary data received by physicians involved in rehabilitation for postcoid syndrome show that those vaccinated do not have it.

In any case, I have not yet seen a description of the postcoid syndrome in a vaccinated person, ”explained Timakov.

Recognition of vaccination certificates in San Marino

The European Commission has recognized the vaccination certificates of San Marino, where the main drug in the vaccination campaign is the Russian Sputnik V, valid in the EU and in the Schengen countries, the press service of the Russian Direct Investment Fund reports.

“I am delighted to see that more and more countries are joining the EU's digital COVID certification system,” said European Commissioner of Justice Didier Reinders.

Recall that on February 19, the Ministry of Health of San Marino approved the use of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine on the territory of the country.

In April, this state began to gradually remove restrictions.

At the same time, in May, RDIF announced that Sputnik V helped San Marino become the first state in Europe to defeat COVID-19.

Later that month, government officials launched a vaccine tourism program.
