Much of the Greens' “immediate program” on climate protection will be implemented by the next government, even if the Greens should not participate in government.

An AfD chancellor would have to be elected to prevent the most important things: faster expansion of wind power and solar energy;

less bureaucratic hurdles;

better conditions for the production of “green” hydrogen;

Safeguarding climate-friendly investments;

more ambition in the construction sector;

faster expansion of the charging infrastructure for electromobility.

All of this, including the earlier end of coal-fired power generation, the higher CO2 price, the energy money, the speed limit and the higher minimum wage (yes, that is also part of climate protection), is also known from the election manifesto of the Greens (the only new thing is that it again gives "pawns").

Still, the Greens still go a step further, and that's what sets them apart from their competitors.

You simply have to present the “biggest climate protection package” “that has ever existed”.

It doesn't get a size smaller, because otherwise the Greens would have to fear for their brand core (and their candidate for chancellor).

In return, they accept that the Union, FDP and SPD can claim that climate policy is not just seen as a promising radical cure.

How the Greens want to compensate for the loss of entire industries;

how they want to bridge “dark lulls” (with “green” hydrogen it won't work anytime soon);

how they want to accelerate what could not be done with green government participation in the countries;

how the German climate primus wants to convert the climate mess all over the world - none of this is made clear in the immediate program.

Even the veto right of a climate protection ministry will not help much.

The future chancellor and his finance minister, even if both should be Greens, will also want to have a say in terms of the right of veto.

After all, there are also plans in the CDU for a “transformation ministry” with the right to intervene.

So the next government will be one way or another: green.
