The United States won the 2021 Football Gold Cup, beating Mexico 1-0 after extra time in the final on Sunday in Las Vegas.

A Miles Robinson headed goal in the 118th minute gave "Team USA" their seventh title in the eleven finals in the premier competition of the Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (Concacaf) .

The United States, who had already beaten their opponent in the final of the League of Nations of Concacaf in early June, also take their revenge on the "Aztecs", eight-time winners of the tournament, who had beaten them (1-0) during the 2019 Gold Cup final.

"It's amazing, crazy emotions," said goalscorer Robinson.

"I knew that if I could free myself and walk past, I could put her to the bottom."

The final was played in front of 60,000 supporters in Las Vegas, but as often when they face Mexico at home, the Americans could have the impression of playing away, as the Mexican fans were in the majority in the stands.
