- We can move both aircraft and helicopters if we see that the fire risks change, says Roger Gustafsson, project manager at MSB, the authority for civil protection and emergency preparedness.

Participated in two operations in the north

The water-bombing aircraft took part in two operations in northern Sweden last week - two took part in Fredrika in Västerbotten last Tuesday and at Ånge in Västernorrland all four planes took part.

- The most important thing in forest fires is always the work done by the rescue service on the ground.

But the aircraft can be of great importance and be a good help when it is difficult to get to the ground, says Roger Gustafsson.

No request from Finland

Two of the aircraft are EU-common resources, so the EU finances most of the cost.

All four are normally stationed at Skavsta Airport outside Nyköping, but can be based in other locations based on the fire risk situation.

There was information that two planes might be sent to a major fire in Finland, how did it go?

- There has been no sharp request from Finland, says Roger Gustafsson.
