Secondary locations often offer much more exciting shops than the usual shopping mile.

Many good examples of this can be found in Frankfurt, for example, on Töngesgasse and Oeder Weg.

Men Limited is one of them.

The shop is located on the lower Oeder Weg, not even a minute by bike from the Bockenheimer facility, and is a fresh offshoot of shop owner Goran Djukic (Liebesdienste Home) on part of the area where Marimekko used to sell.

If the shop doesn't look like too much from the outside, that changes right behind the front door. The eye falls on a few rectangular flacons directly on the counter, wanders on to cups and tea towels, brushes against books and noble notebooks with rounded corners, and finally gets stuck on a row of coffee machines.

Mind you: coffee machines and no fashionable espresso machines, especially no capsuleers. The devices are something of a specialty of the house, as the friendly service staff explains. Not only do they look pretty retro, they also make filter coffee, much like they used to. However, modern technology offers a little more than a coffee machine from 1980. A copper heating system ensures the right temperature. “If filter coffee tastes bitter or sour, it is less because of the beans than because of the temperature,” the customer learns. The devices also have a grinder. This means that fresh powder with the full aroma is always used. Contrary to expectations, the machine doesn't cost a fortune. With 134 euros or 229 euros, the buyer is there. Yes, women also buy in this men's shop.He is declared there “for men and for those who love men”.

Distilled in a whiskey barrel

For coffee there are beautiful ceramic cups that look more solid than porcelain vessels.

If you don't have any cloths to dry your cups with, you will find a linen-cotton mix in the style of kitchen textiles from grandma’s days: robust to the touch and with a nice little checkered pattern in shades of blue.

In general, Djukic once again shows his good knack for product ranges. For jeans, for example, there are books on “Denim Hunters and Jeans Culture”. After all, the man's spirit also wants to be cultivated. We were particularly interested in the ingenious collection that the shop gets from the Ehringhausen distillery in Westphalia. The company creates grain brandies from spelled and rye and matures them in oak barrels. Some of the alcohol is also stored in whiskey barrels from the Scottish island of Islay, which is known for its smoky aromas.

If you are looking for something special, you might want to use key rings made of leather and brass (69 euros) or an American perfume balm (Cologne Solid) from the one-ounce jar, that is 28 grams (30 euros).

The one-piece brass ballpoint pen is an eye-catcher.

Not exactly cheap at 85.50 euros, but definitely a part for life.
