83-year-old in Varberg had to sleep with feces in bed - S blames savings

SVT and other local media have reported on Eva-Lena Böndergaard's report to the Swedish Health and Care Inspectorate (IVO).

She says, among other things, that she found her 83-year-old father in a bed where home care staff made beds over old stools with new sheets.

Saves eleven million kronor

All operations in Varberg municipality have an annual requirement to streamline operations to save costs corresponding to one percent of the budget per year.

For the Social Welfare Board, this corresponds to eleven million kronor in 2021.

The case is being investigated, apart from within IVO, now also by the social administration in Varberg municipality.
