Japan's Kyoto news agency reported that the Japanese government has asked the Korean government to respond to the Tokyo Olympics Korean meal support center. The reason is that our team's food service center, which provides Korean lunch boxes, creates a negative image of Fukushima's food materials.

Japan's Kyoto news agency reported that the Japanese government requested an appropriate response from the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs in late last month, saying that the food service center of the Korean athletes was promoting 'fuhyohigai'.

He said that the Fukushima-made ingredients are safe, and he asked the Korean side to urge the team to improve the behavior that caused misunderstandings.

The Japanese side also expressed concern over critical reports in the Korean media about the use of Fukushima flowers in Olympic bouquets delivered to medal winners.

The Korean Sports Association also mentioned the 'General Admiral Yi Sun-sin banner' that was removed from the apartment building in the Tokyo Olympic Athletes' Village.

A Japanese government official explained, "The purpose is to provide guidance so that it does not become a new political problem," Kyodo News reported.

The meal support center for Korean athletes has been operating since the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

At the Olympic Press Center on the 24th of last month, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hwang Hee countered that the perception in Japan that the food service center was operated to avoid Fukushima ingredients was not true.
