01 August 2021 "Throughout the night, until the early hours of the morning, together with Sea Watch and ResQ, we were engaged in a difficult rescue operation of 400 people from a large wooden boat that was taking in water. The survivors are now receiving assistance on Ocean Viking and Sea Watch3. We now have 449 survivors on board in total. "

In all, 600 people were gathered over the weekend.
In the hotspot of Lampedusa there are 1,135 migrants, compared to a maximum capacity of 250. In the last hours, always trying to lighten the first reception structure, the police have embarked 97 migrants on the quarantine ship Azzurra which will transfer them to Porto Empedocle and another 77 on the liner also for Porto Empedocle.
For the day today, according to the provisions of the prefecture which works with the coordination of the ministry, 110 migrants will be transferred to the scheduled ferry and 150 to the Adriatico quarantine ship which will take care, also in this case, of transferring them elsewhere.
