Brand Dubai and Dubai Municipality select 30 Emiratis to redesign 10 public parks

Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Dubai Government Media Office, and Dubai Municipality, revealed 10 public parks that will be redesigned in Dubai as part of a joint initiative between the two parties, in line with the objectives of the Dubai Urban Plan launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the State , Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, aiming to make Dubai the best city for life in the world.

This came during an event organized by "Brand Dubai" at the headquarters of the Media Office of the Government of Dubai, with the participation of Dubai Municipality, in which the two sides announced the selection of 30 individuals from the Emirati creative community, most of whom are recent graduates and young professionals, to participate in the design of the ten announced gardens. Their selection is based on the creative biography of their artworks in the field of producing and designing garden facilities with environmentally friendly materials and modern and innovative building methods that help revitalize the vitality of the gardens and attract visitors.

Asim Abdul Razzaq Al Qassim, Acting Director of the Executive Planning Department at Dubai Municipality said, "The 10 chosen parks are distributed in the following residential areas: Al Mizhar 1, Muhaisnah 3, Al Barsha 2, Al Quoz 1, Al Warqa'a 2, Nad Al Sheba 4, Al Twar 3, Oud Al Muteena 2, Al Warqa’ 4 and Umm Suqeim 2, stressing that this joint initiative will contribute to increasing public green spaces in Dubai with the aim of promoting luxury and sustainability.” He stressed that the Emirati participants will contribute to adding new dimensions of creativity and excellence to the garden design project.

Al Qassim added, "On this occasion, we are pleased to also announce that the innovative vision of this joint project between "Brand Dubai" and "Dubai Municipality" will support the city of Dubai's membership in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, by expanding opportunities for creatives in the cultural sector by participating in the re-design Dubai parks, and stimulating the involvement of youth energies to participate in planning and building the city in the field of sustainable urban design.

In her turn, Director of Creative Projects at Brand Dubai, Shaima Al Suwaidi, said, "Dubai is a favorite destination for creators and creative ideas in the world, and we are always keen in all our projects to involve this group of society, especially the creative Emirati talents, which we pay great attention to as a partner in our vision by adding touches New creativity in Dubai.

Al-Suwaidi added, "The participants will be divided into three groups consisting of 10 architects, 10 interior designers and 10 organizers of creative events and events, stressing that all the participants announced today, were chosen from among the more than 100 participants who applied to participate in their work according to the concept of sustainable urban design.

Al Suwaidi explained that Brand Dubai will work closely with the participants to develop their ideas in an innovative way, and to achieve this goal, "Brand Dubai" will provide the participants with their own workspace at the headquarters of the Dubai Government Media Office, which has integrated creative work spaces.
