U.S. pharmaceutical companies Pfizer and Moderna have increased the price of a COVID-19 vaccine supplied to the European Union, local media reported.

According to reports, Pfizer recently raised the price of the vaccine by more than 25% when it signed a vaccine supply agreement with the EU, and Moderna also raised the price of the vaccine by more than 10%.

As a result, the price of one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine supplied to Europe has increased from 15.5 euros to 19.5 euros, or about 26,700 Korean won.

The price increase will also affect other countries that are planning to sign additional contracts.
