The two young people, 16 and 17 years old respectively, will be convicted of aggravated assault by three people in Varberg during the latter part of 2020.

On the first occasion in September, they kicked a person after he was beaten during a pre-arranged meeting after a conflict.

On the second occasion in December, two people were subjected to aggravated assault by the two convicted, also this time due to a conflict.

On both occasions, it was the 16-year-old who was the driving force behind the violence and his 17-year-old friend who helped, according to Varberg District Court.

Could have given jail

The 16-year-old is sentenced to 150 hours of youth service and the 17-year-old to 50 hours.

However, the court writes that they could have been sentenced to 2.5 years and 6 months in prison, respectively, if they had been of legal age at the time of the crime.

The convicts must also pay damages to the victims.
