Around 3:30 p.m. Frankfurt Eintracht wants to compete in the Waldstadion with AS St. Étienne.

According to the club's website from the morning there are still tickets left.

All in all, the association is allowed to sell up to 10,000 tickets.

That would only be different if the central Corona code were above 100, as the association explains.

But that is far from the case.

However, the incidence on the Main rose again overnight, as shown in the bulletin of the Ministry of Social Affairs and data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). In Hesse, too, the trend is pointing upwards again. In addition, there are fewer regions with a single-digit number of new infections under 100,000 inhabitants and more unresolved infections within a week. 21 of the 26 districts and large cities now show double-digit values. The number of corona patients ventilated in intensive care units is stagnating at a very low level.

The director of the Frankfurt University Hospital meanwhile does not believe in the suggestion that unvaccinated people should pay for corona tests themselves from autumn.

"Making tests subject to a charge leads to the opposite of what we want," said Professor Jürgen Graf, Medical Director of the Frankfurt University Hospital, the German Press Agency.

The President of the German Medical Association, Klaus Reinhardt, and several politicians had called for this.

The number of infections is usually very high, especially in population groups with low incomes.

If these people had to pay for tests, less would be done in total.

More uncured cases

According to the RKI, the Hessian health authorities reported 181 new positive PCR tests overnight after 150 a week ago and 123 a month ago. Officially, 294,768 people in Hesse have been infected with a variant of the corona virus since the pandemic began in March of last year. That is about 4.7 percent of the country's population. Around 2200 cases are still active, 100 more than on Friday.

Two more deaths in connection with the pandemic must be mourned.

All in all, according to the RKI, 7587 people in Hesse died of or with Covid-19.

According to data from the Divi Register, 36 people with Covid 19 disease were treated in the intensive care units in the state, one less than last.

13 of them had to be ventilated invasively, the number is unchanged.

68 patients on normal wards after 49 a week ago and 59 suspected cases were added last, as the Ministry of Social Affairs informs the FAZ.

Divi stands for German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine.

When vaccinated further below average

In terms of vaccination rates, however, Hesse is consistently below the federal average. That didn't change on Friday either. In terms of the proportion of those who have been vaccinated, the state is even losing ground again. Hessen has 50.6 percent, 0.9 points less than the average, while Rhineland-Palatinate has 52 percent. 3.894 million people in Hesse are vaccinated at least once, 3.18 million already have complete vaccination protection. According to the RKI, the numbers relate to the entire country's population. Hessen has a total of around 6.3 million inhabitants.

The centrally located federal state is also below the nationwide quota for initial vaccinations: According to the latest data, 61.2 percent of people in Hesse have received a first vaccination against the coronavirus.

Hessen is now 0.3 points below the national average.

The front runner is Bremen with 70.4 percent of the first vaccinated - Rhineland-Palatinate comes with 62.9.

From Monday onwards, the residence principle in the 28 vaccination centers will no longer apply.

Hessians can then get a preventive injection against Covid-19, wherever they like and wherever they can.

In Wiesbaden, for example, unlike in front of the Frankfurt Festhalle, there were no queues of vaccinees to be seen recently.

The Hessen incidence rose overnight by 0.4 points to 18.9; a month ago it was eight.

Six federal states have a higher index, the RKI puts the federal average at 16.9.

In Frankfurt it is now just under 36. The Hersfeld-Rotenburg district continues to perform best with only 0.8.

Resident doctors and staff have so far administered a good 2.52 million vaccinations, as the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians announced.

Since the beginning of April, the general practitioners' practices in Hesse have also been vaccinated against Covid-19, a little later the specialist practices and, on June 7th, the company doctors were added.

Hessen is also returning Astra vaccine

Hessen is preparing to return unneeded corona vaccine from the manufacturer Astrazeneca to the federal government. It is foreseeable that a large part of this vaccine will not be used in the Hessian vaccination centers, said a spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior in Wiesbaden on Friday in response to a dpa request. First of all, the 28 vaccination centers are asked to return any vaccine that is not required to the country. These are between 100,000 and 120,000 cans from Astrazeneca.

Together with the around 70,000 vaccine doses from Astrazeneca that are still in the state warehouse, the product is to be returned as soon as the federal government gives its approval. Then they could be donated to third countries. According to the Ministry of the Interior, they can be stored for up to six months at two to eight degrees Celsius. The earliest expiry date for the Hessian holdings is October 1, 2021.
