The black flag movement tried to make its anger heard on Saturday morning in the streets of Kuala Lumpur.

While Malaysia has been confined for more than two months, the cases of Covid-19 are only on the rise and citizen movements have urged the people to put white flags on their windows first to indicate they are hungry, then black flags to call for the overthrow of the government.

The handling of the pandemic prompted opposition parties to call for his resignation.

Behind the black flags, masks, hats and facial shields, young faces have come to demand the resignation of the Prime Minister. But among the angry youth, not all were able to come, recalls this twenty-year-old graduate but unemployed boy: “

I have a lot of friends who could not come because their parents were afraid. I think Malaysians are often shy, reserved, I myself had some qualms about coming, but honestly I have nothing else to do in my life at the moment.

"

Under the sounds of helicopters monitoring the procession, this young social worker admits not having told her family that she would go to protest.

For her, the government is conspicuous by its absence.

“

The number of suicides on the rise in the country

Every eight hours, a person commits suicide, because permanent stress or because she lost her job.

And even though everyone is confined, the positive cases are still very high and are only increasing.

To respond to this political crisis, a sign suggests using the same barrier gestures used to fight the coronavirus: disinfect the government.
