TASS reports.

In accordance with the adopted document, the Russians will be able to return 13% of the cost of sports.

The maximum amount that can be received in a year will be 120 thousand rubles.

The deduction will apply to income received by taxpayers starting from January 1, 2022.

The head of the Russian Ministry of Sports, Oleg Matytsin, believes that the adoption of these measures will be a good incentive for Russians to start training, and sports will become more accessible.

“Those people for whom the cost of purchasing a membership to a fitness club was too high, now, perhaps, with the introduction of a tax deduction, they will begin to actively sign up for fitness classes,” he said.

Matytsin stressed that the deduction also covers the costs of sports sections for children.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law in April that introduces a personal income tax deduction for sports and fitness spending.
