In order to protect the population against Covid-19, the South-East department of Haiti received 22,000 doses of Moderna vaccine on July 26.
If many inhabitants are determined to be vaccinated, in a part of the population vaccination stumbles on mistrust.

The United States thought it was helping the Haitian population to
protect themselves against Covid-19
by granting Haiti 500,000 doses of Moderna vaccine.
Yet many citizens refuse to be vaccinated.
When asked, they express their distrust of the vaccine.
“
Due to the multiple complications caused by the vaccine, there is no chance that I will agree to be vaccinated,”
says a man.

I have a lot more confidence in medicinal plants, I am not going to be vaccinated and I do not encourage anyone else to do it because it has already caused too many deaths in other countries
", adds another man.
The South-East Departmental Health Director, Doctor Newton Jeudy, continues to talk about the benefits of the vaccine, and encourages the citizens of the region to be vaccinated in order to avoid possible contamination.
"
The vaccine available at the departmental level is Moderna, it is very safe, so it will not cause any problem to anyone
", assures the doctor.
Of the 500,000 doses of vaccine supplied to Haiti, the Sud-Est department received 22,000, but on the first day of the vaccination campaign, only ten people showed up.
