A white march in tribute to Wilhem Houssin, a 49-year-old artist beaten to death in the Rennes metropolitan area and who died last Saturday, brought together between 400 and 500 people in Vezin-le-Coquet, we learned from the prefecture of 'Ille-et-Vilaine.

This march organized this Saturday morning was intended "pacifist, colorful and musical", according to the call.

"He was so alive and dynamic and of course a musician that we did not see a sad march", declared on France 3 René-François Houssin, father of the victim and who is also mayor of Vezin-le-Coquet, commune of 6,000 inhabitants adjoining Rennes.

Friday evening, five young men, including two minors, "all known to the judicial institution to varying degrees", according to the prosecution, were indicted for intentional homicide and imprisoned.

In the afternoon of Wednesday, July 21, Wilhem Houssin was rescued in Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande and transported to hospital in serious condition, before succumbing to his injuries on Saturday.

"The cause of death was related to the head injuries"

The autopsy revealed the presence of traumatic lesions to the face, trunk and lower limbs as well as various fractures, particularly to the head.

"The cause of death was related to the head injuries," said the prosecution.

According to the investigations, the victim had gone to the center of the town to visit an apartment with his partner "and they had had difficulty finding the address of the meeting", according to the same source.

Wilhem Houssin "had had contact with a group of young men and an altercation ensued for a reason which is not established".

"Following this altercation, the victim fell heavily to the ground where he was to undergo significant violence," said Rennes prosecutor Philippe Astruc.
