The Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, Matar Muhammad Al Tayer, revealed that the total revenues of the authority obtained through digital channels (electronic payment gateway and smart kiosks), in 2020, amounted to two billion and 655 million dirhams, while the total number of digital transactions amounted to 527 million. And 146 thousand transactions, and the number of registered users in the digital channels reached two million and 162 thousand users, while the number of downloads of smart applications reached six million and 136 thousand downloads, stressing that the percentage of digital adoption of the Roads and Transport Authority exceeded the 91% barrier, and the customer happiness index reached 96.2%, The digital transformation of the authority contributed to reducing the number of completed transactions in customer happiness centers by 64.5% in 2020 compared to 2019.

Al Tayer stressed that the results of these indicators are one of the fruits of the authority’s commitment to implement the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the instructions of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, in Transforming Dubai into the smartest city in the world, in which services are provided through smart channels around the clock, pointing out that the authority was one of the first government agencies to transform all the services it provides to customers into smart services whose design took into account innovation and ease of use, which contributed to ensuring business continuity and achievement Its operations and provision of services to customers at high levels without interruption during the crisis of the “Covid-19” pandemic.

He explained that the authority is currently updating and following up the implementation of 111 projects within the digital strategy 2020-2024. In the authority until the end of 2020, it is estimated at 127 terabytes, which is equivalent to archiving 64 billion papers, and the number of smart screens is estimated to be more than 970 screens.

He added: “The RTA has recently developed Nol digital services, which included the development of the balance redemption service and the launch of the NOL pay app, which is the first virtual card for payment in public transportation, in cooperation with Huawei. It also launched the integrated card (Emaar and Nol). ), which offers Emaar discounts to its holders, up to 40%, and the authority is the first government entity to apply the latest technologies from (Apple) to pay the parking tariffs.”

Al Tayer stressed that the Roads and Transport Authority is proceeding with determination to translate the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to transform Dubai into a smart city, in which modern and advanced technologies are used to provide services of high quality, in order to achieve happiness and prosperity for the residents, and to make Dubai the best smart city in road and transportation systems. At the global level, by focusing on developing and encouraging mass transit systems, expanding the application of modern technologies to raise the efficiency of traffic and mass transportation systems, and making electronic and smart services the basis for providing service to customers.
