The US Biden administration has announced that Vice President Harris will visit Singapore and Vietnam next month.

Secretary of Defense Austin has just arrived in Southeast Asia, and the Byden administration wants to further strengthen its involvement in the region by dispatching a series of executives from the administration and curb China's actions in the South China Sea and elsewhere.

The White House in the United States announced on the 30th that Vice President Harris will visit Singapore and Vietnam next month to discuss regional security and response to the new coronavirus with government officials.

Until the 30th, Secretary of Defense Austin visited three countries, Singapore, Vietnam, and the Philippines, for the first time as a key minister of the Biden administration.

During a series of visits, Secretary Austin exchanged views on strengthening cooperation with China in mind as it strengthens its marine expansion, of which the Philippines agreed to continue to maintain the military agreement between the two countries.

China is developing so-called "vaccine diplomacy" in Southeast Asia and is activating military activities in the South China Sea.

For this reason, some Southeast Asian countries have said that they should carefully determine whether China can be deterred by cooperating with the United States.

By dispatching the Vice President of the Government No. 2 following the Secretary of Defense, the Biden administration wants to show an attitude of emphasizing Southeast Asia, further strengthen its involvement in the region, and curb China's actions in the South China Sea and other areas.
