During the summer, the spread of infection in Sörmland has been at a relatively steady level.
In the last two weeks, the number of new infections has decreased, albeit cautiously.
However, the figures for week 30 show a turnaround.
The increase is not surprising
Between Monday and Thursday, 76 new cases have been reported, which is twice as many as in the whole of week 29. However, the increase does not come as a surprise to infection control in Sörmland.
- I have followed the development in other countries that have gone further in the vaccination than we did.
There is also an increase, says Signar Mäkitalo.
Spread among young people
The spread of infection takes place abroad, among other places, but the virus is also spread in Sörmland.
According to the region, it is mainly people aged 10-29 who are infected.
- Now we hope that people get vaccinated as soon as they can and that it is in the spinal cord to keep their distance, says Signar Mäkitalo.
