On Monday evening, a man tied a dog behind his vehicle and dragged it for several meters on the Nantes ring road, before fleeing.

Transported to the vet by the fire department, the dog had to be euthanized.

Several witnesses managed to identify the vehicle's license plate.

, the defendant will receive a judicial summons.

He faces two years in prison and a 30,000 euros fine.

Lodging a complaint from the Loire-Atlantique Animal Refuge

In response to this act, the Animal Refuge of Loire-Atlantique, partner of the 30 Million Friends Foundation, lodged a complaint for an act of cruelty and serious mistreatment of an animal.

30 Million Friends also denounced an "act of barbarism", while the abandonments multiply this summer.
