  The 4th China (Gansu) Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry Expo, jointly organized by the National Health Commission, the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the People's Government of Gansu Province, will be held in Longxi County, Dingxi City, Gansu Province from August 25 to 28 this year.

  Ouyang Bo said that traditional Chinese medicine embodies profound philosophical wisdom and thousands of years of health preservation concepts and practical experience of the Chinese nation.

With the transformation of modern medical models and changes in health concepts, the understanding, recognition, exchanges and cooperation of traditional Chinese medicine in the international community have become increasingly extensive.

  According to Ouyang Bo, as of now, Chinese medicine has spread to 196 countries and regions in the world, and the Chinese government has signed special Chinese medicine cooperation agreements with more than 40 countries and regions.

China has supported the construction of a number of Chinese medicine centers in the countries along the “Belt and Road” and the construction of 17 Chinese medicine service export bases in China.

  The International Organization for Standardization has also established a special technical committee of traditional Chinese medicine (ISO/TC249), and has successively formulated and promulgated 69 international standards of traditional Chinese medicine.

Traditional medicine represented by Chinese medicine is included in the World Health Organization International Classification of Disease Code (ICD-11).

As an important part of the international medical system, Chinese medicine is playing an active role in promoting human health.

  Ouyangbo commented that Gansu Province has carried out a lot of work in the "going global" aspect of traditional Chinese medicine, and achieved good results.

"International exchange platforms like the China Pharmaceutical Expo have also played a positive role in the'going global' of Chinese medicine."

  Liu Borong, director of the Gansu Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, also stated that Gansu Province has initially established an international platform for cooperation and exchanges in traditional Chinese medicine by successfully holding three traditional Chinese medicine industry expos, which has played a positive role in promoting Gansu's traditional Chinese medicine "going out".

  At present, Gansu Province has established Qihuang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine or Chinese Medicine Centers in 16 countries including Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Hungary, and Thailand. It has treated 22,000 patients and trained nearly 1,000 overseas personnel.

  In addition, Gansu Province has adopted the methods of "promoting medicine with medicine" and "promoting medicine with medicine" to promote the international registration, certification, promotion and application of Chinese medicine and Chinese medicine equipment, and organize Chinese medicine enterprises in the province to participate in international professional exhibitions in many countries.
