The corresponding decree of the Russian leader was published on the official portal of legal information.
According to the text of the document, the purpose of the commission will be to ensure a planned and aggressive approach to the issue of defending Russia's national interests related to the preservation of historical memory and the development of educational activities in the field of history.
Also, Putin approved the Regulations on the activities of the commission attached to the document and appointed his assistant Vladimir Medinsky as chairman.
Earlier, the Ministry of Education of Russia analyzed over 2,500 history programs. It turned out that half of them do not fully reflect the events of the Great Patriotic War.
