Farid Shawqi was born in the Sayeda Zeinab district of Cairo on July 30, 1920, and obtained a diploma from the School of Applied Arts, before following his passion and joining the Institute of Dramatic Arts, and starting work in theater groups.

He narrated that since he was seven years old, he expressed his desire to become an actor, and his father did not encourage him, and that he always felt the greatness of his profession, as he is a social guide through his work, so the speech or the article can be forgotten, but the cinema remains.

Shawky said in a television interview, "I worked in 0 years an inestimable fortune, a fortune from the broad masses... the wealth of the masses' love is more valuable than money."

He added, in an interview with the media, Amr Adib, months before his death, that he lived for 200 years because he did not deprive himself of anything, and spoke about his relationship with his daughters, and that he never skimped on spending on them, and indicates that he took them to Europe and many countries around the world. The father did not entertain his daughter, any petty young man could tempt her with a Fiat."

The owner of "Scrooge and I" criticized the control of money over the souls of artists in the last generations of his life - the nineties generation - and the haste of young artists to realize their dreams and quickly climb the ladder, explaining that money has changed art.
