No white smoke this Friday, July 30 in the process of appointing the chairman of the electoral commission.

Work resumed this morning at the invitation of the president of the platform of religious confessions and president of Cenco, Monsignor Utembi.

But the discussions quickly ended.

The eight representatives decided to submit a joint report to the President of the National Assembly to explain the reasons for their disagreements.

In front of the press, Monsignor Utembi insists on the importance of the unity of the religious confessions: “

You see that all the eight religious confessions are present

, he insists.

This sufficiently demonstrates that we are called to work together.

We are an important moral authority in our country, the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The president of Cenco refuses to give details on the state of progress of the discussions.

We are preparing to go and submit the report of our work to whom it may concern.

And it is only him, who can give other comments to reserve some way out of this work.

 "

In this report, the religious denominations set out their points of divergence.

For six faiths out of eight, it was normal to go to a vote in the absence of consensus.

Despite allegations of threat and attempted corruption, they believe that their candidate remains the most competent.

For their part, Catholics and Protestants make these allegations a

casus belli

.

They believe that only the report signed by the eight denominations is authentic.

#RDC #CENI: the report sent @AssembleeN_RDC signed by the representatives of the eight religious denominations which confirms their disagreement.

“The president of the platform did not want to organize the vote under these conditions.
