The Russian Consulate General in Antalya warned Russian tourists in the fire-hazardous regions of Turkey about a possible evacuation.

This is stated in the official statement of the department posted on Facebook.

At the same time, according to the Russian consulate, the fire hazard for hotels in Marmaris has passed, and most hotels continue to operate normally.

“We urge our compatriots in the fire-hazardous regions of Turkey to be extremely careful, ready for possible evacuation and follow the instructions of local authorities in case of an emergency,” the Russian Consulate General in Antalya said on the website.

The diplomats also said that there were no Russians among the victims of the fires in Turkish Antalya; tourists from several hotels had been evacuated from dangerous areas in advance.

“According to the information received by the consulate general in the prefecture and the city administration, there are no Russian citizens among the victims,” the statement said.

As the diplomats recalled, the previous evening, the authorities carried out a preventive evacuation of tourists from several hotels in the risk zone.

They were temporarily housed in hotels in a safe part of the city.

It is clarified that in the current situation there is no fire hazard for hotels in Marmaris.

“Most of the hotels continue to function normally and receive new tourist groups.

During the day, it is planned to return all tourists to hotels at the place of their permanent rest, ”added the Russian Embassy.

Earlier, the Turkish authorities announced an improvement in the situation with forest fires in the country.

This, in particular, was expressed by the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic, Bekir Pakdemirli.

According to him, currently 57 fire centers have been localized.

In addition, the official said that the fires killed four people: three in Antalya and one in Mugla.

Recall that the fires in Turkey began on July 28 in the area of ​​the resort town of Manavgat in Antalya province.

Later, the fire affected forests near Marmaris in the Mugla province on the southwestern coast of the country.

According to the authorities, fires were recorded in a total of six regions of the country.

Commenting on the situation with the fires, the press secretary of the Turkish President Ibrahim Kalin called them a national disaster.

Rosturizm appealed to tour operators with a request to meet tourists halfway if the conditions of travel to Turkey change against the background of the situation with fires in the country.

This is stated in the statement of the head of the department Zarina Doguzova.

“For tourists who are planning trips to Turkey, we recommend staying in touch with your tour operator and keeping an eye on the situation.

We ask tour operators to inform tourists about the situation as quickly as possible and to meet halfway if the travel conditions change, "- said in a message on the agency's website.

At the same time, Rosturizm recommended that tourists who are already on vacation to monitor the situation and, if possible, not leave the territory of the hotels, as well as follow the recommendations of the authorities.

It is noted that Rosturizm continues to monitor the situation in Turkey.

The ministry stressed that the Turkish authorities are doing everything possible to localize fires and ensure the safety of tourists.
