Because of the corona, young adults and unvaccinated patients in need of hospitalization are emphasized, says the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health (STM).

According to the Ministry's press release, the number of corona infections has been increasing throughout July and almost throughout Finland.

The chains of infection have grown larger during the summer, which has made tracing difficult and in some places congested.

The video above tells you what the delta variant is.

However, the need for hospital care has grown more gently than before, as vaccination coverage for at-risk groups is good.

Among the elderly, coronary incidence and deaths have fallen to very low levels.

The corona epidemic continues to spread among young adults.

Last week, more than half of all infections were found in people under 30 years of age.

Infections have been reported in young people aged 18 to 21 in particular.

Nearly 6,000 people were quarantined last week.

Exposures have occurred at leisure events, catering shops, as well as at outdoor parties and public events.

- Right now, it is very important that young people and people of working age also take into account the possibility of infection in their own behavior, in order to avoid social exclusion, the release states.

Yesterday, according to the hospital districts' own report, there were a total of 57 coronary patients in hospital care, of which three were in primary care wards, 48 in specialist care wards and six in intensive care wards.
