The new law on anti-Covid measures, including the controversial extension of the health pass for adults, will come into force on August 9, said government spokesman Gabriel Attal at the end of the Council of ministers Wednesday July 28.

Before that, the law must pass a final stage: the examination by the Constitutional Council, whose opinion is expected on August 5.

This can validate the law as a whole or censor certain articles.

In the meantime, the government is moving ahead and seems to assume that the health law will be fully enforced.

There will be "at the start, a time of adaptation, tolerance, teaching, support for the actors concerned" by the obligation to control the health pass, however tried to reassure Gabriel Attal, referring to the "period one-week running-in period "granted to establishments that already submit to it.

The health pass can be obtained with, at your choice:

  • a complete vaccination schedule;

  • a negative PCR or antigen test of less than 48 hours;

  • a certificate of recovery from Covid-19 less than six months old.
