Is the health pass a danger for traders?

Already impacted by long months of confinement, restaurateurs and cafetiers do not see the end of the tunnel.

With the introduction, on August 9, of the health pass, they fear losing customers.

The Ministry of the Economy is therefore considering the implementation of new financial aid.

The beautiful season turns into a nightmare for restaurateurs and cafetiers: after the more than unstable weather, here is the sanitary pass.

The measure to fight the coronavirus, in particular the spread of the Delta variant, will come into force on August 9.

And in amusement parks or cinemas where it is already applied, the sanitary pass tends to scare customers away.

To help French businesses, the government could well release new aid by the end of the summer.

"We are waiting for the feedback from the field to decide".

At the Ministry of the Economy or that of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, the answer is the same: there will be a support system if it is proven that the health pass penalizes certain businesses.

Bruno Le Maire thus made an appointment on August 30 for professionals to take stock of their losses, sector by sector.

We must "not disconnect all support measures"

An "important" initiative for François Asselin.

"Is it going to be an additional obstacle for the customers or will it reassure them? We do not know it. This is why we consider it important not to disconnect everything at the level of the support measures" , advance president of the Confederation of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Before warning: "if we go too fast, unfortunately, many companies may not be able to bounce back in this context".

The Solidarity Fund and the exemption from charges, two existing devices, could be extended beyond August 30 if the situation so required, ensures the entourage of the Minister of the Economy. But the government is betting above all on increasing the vaccination coverage of the French to limit the economic impact of the pass. In the end, Bercy has a double mission: to continue to support the sectors impacted by health measures while trying to gradually move away from whatever the cost.
