On July 27, local time, the 3.5-meter-high puppet Emmel symbolizes a 9-year-old Syrian refugee girl who will set off from the southern Turkish city of Gaziantep and "walk" all the way to Manchester, England, where her mother settled.

Along the way, it will pass through Greece, Italy, France, Germany, Belgium and other countries, and participate in more than 80 performances and activities. The whole journey is about 8,000 kilometers. It is expected to take more than 12 weeks (July 27 to November 3) to try Complete one of the most complex public art operations to date.

According to the report, the project was named "Walking" with the participation of about 250 cooperative organizations and artists. It was originally planned to be completed from April to July this year, but it was postponed due to the pandemic.

The project is meant to applaud the potential of refugees, children and adults.

Some artists said that this is not a journey of suffering, but a journey of pride, hoping that the corridor of friendship between many countries will last much longer than this 12-week itinerary.
