China News Agency, Moscow, July 29. Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui said in an interview with Interfax News Agency on the 29th that China and Russia are willing to study and promote the mutual recognition of mainstream vaccination between the two countries.

Zhang Hanhui said that China is willing to maintain communication with countries including Russia on cooperation issues related to the new crown vaccine.

At present, two Chinese vaccines have been approved by the WHO to be included in the "emergency use list", and their effectiveness and safety have been widely recognized. Russia's "Satellite-V" vaccine has been registered in 68 countries and has received good international reviews.

Although Europe, the United States and other countries currently refuse to recognize vaccines in China and Russia, China and Russia are willing to study and promote the mutual recognition of mainstream vaccination between the two countries.

Zhang Hanhui said that the current situation of the world epidemic is still not optimistic. The governments and people of most countries are still on the road of fighting the epidemic.

China attaches great importance to the smoothness and safety of personnel exchanges between China and Russia.

Since the epidemic, the Chinese Embassy in Russia has opened a green channel to provide visas and other conveniences for Russian personnel who participate in major practical cooperation between China and Russia and who have urgent humanitarian needs.

China is willing to continue to overcome the epidemic with Russia and create necessary external conditions for the eventual victory over the epidemic and the early realization of normal personnel exchanges between the two countries.

Zhang Hanhui said that in the context of the epidemic, China-Russia economic and trade cooperation has maintained stable development, showing strong resilience.

Last year, bilateral trade volume was 107.77 billion U.S. dollars, exceeding 100 billion U.S. dollars for the third consecutive year.

Since the beginning of this year, Sino-Russian economic and trade relations have continued to stabilize and improve, with both quality and quantity rising, and the quality is full.

In terms of bilateral trade, according to Chinese statistics, from January to June, the bilateral trade volume was US$63.08 billion, a year-on-year increase of 28.2%.

China ranks firmly as Russia's largest trading partner.

China-Russia economic and trade cooperation is basically stable and contains high gold content. We are full of confidence in the overall positive development of bilateral cooperation and new growth in trade this year.

Zhang Hanhui said that in recent years, Russia has actively promoted the "de-dollarization" of foreign trade, expanding the use of renminbi in domestic currency settlement, purchase of renminbi-denominated financial products, and investment reserve currency.

The renminbi is increasingly recognized and favored by the Russian government, enterprises and investors.

This shows that the renminbi has its own advantages and potential in the Russian market, indicating that China and Russia have made positive progress in promoting the diversification of bilateral trade settlement, and the role of the local currency as a means of payment is gradually increasing.

Expanding the scale of local currency settlement is one of the main directions for China and Russia to deepen financial cooperation, and it is also conducive to building a more flexible and resilient international monetary system.

China regards Russia as a priority partner and is willing to work with Russia to continuously deepen settlement in local currency and improve the construction and connection of cross-border payment systems.
