His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, recently approved 10 decisions regarding reducing and canceling fees, regulating passenger transport, and regulating the activity of driving vehicles in the emirate, in addition to a number of decisions regarding the appointment of executive directors, and the reinstatement of Forming the Board of Directors of the Dubai Autism Center, with the aim of easing the financial burdens on those engaged in economic activities in the emirate, and on its residents.

The decisions issued by the Executive Council of the Government of Dubai, and which were published in its official government gazette, in its issue issued today (Thursday), include a decision to reduce the fees charged by some government agencies, in exchange for the services they provide, and cancel the fees that some government agencies collect for some of the services they provide. The officials of the government entity may, after obtaining the prior approval of the Department of Finance, reduce or cancel the financial allowances other than the fees collected by that entity, in exchange for the services and goods it provides, provided that this reduction or cancellation takes place in the same legislative department in which it was approved.

The fee adjustments included services, whether by reducing or canceling, nine government agencies in the Emirate of Dubai. The fee adjustment included three agencies: the Department of Economic Development (5 service fees), the Dubai Maritime City Authority (12 service fees), and the Dubai Health Authority (service fee). The decision to regulate the transportation of passengers by cars in the emirate defines 10 tasks and functions of the Public Transport Agency in the Roads and Transport Authority, including deciding on applications for permits covered by the provisions of this decision, determining the necessary requirements to facilitate the use of taxis by persons with disabilities, and monitoring the extent of the facility's commitment (ie A company or institution licensed in the Emirate to carry out passenger transport), on the terms of the permits issued by the institution, and the concession contracts concluded with it, and specifying the number of vehicles with which the facility may conduct the activity.

The decision also mentioned 10 prohibitions in the framework of organizing passenger transport, including practicing the activity in the emirate before obtaining a permit, transporting passengers in cars that are not licensed to practice the activity for a fee, transporting passengers by taxi without operating the number at the beginning of the journey, and transporting passengers from the Emirate of Dubai to the Emirates In addition to operating a taxi without a meter installed in it, or making changes in the meter with the aim of adjusting the tariff value, and operating luxury cars as taxis or vice versa.

The decision included five violations and penalties applied to perpetrators of violating any of the prohibitions specified in the decision to regulate passenger transport, which is first, each perpetrator of any of the specified prohibitions is punished with a fine (fines ranged from 500 dirhams to 10,000 dirhams), without prejudice to any more severe penalty stipulated in another decision And secondly, the total value of fines imposed on the violator in one year should not exceed 30 thousand dirhams for violations committed by individuals, and 50,000 dirhams for violations committed by establishments, and thirdly, the authority may take one or more of six measures, against the violator, which is to suspend the activity For a period not exceeding six months, suspending the driving license for a period not exceeding six months, suspending the work permit to practice the profession of a taxi or luxury car driver for a period not exceeding six months, canceling the permit to practice the profession of a taxi or luxury car driver, and impounding the vehicle that The violation was committed by it for a period not exceeding six months, revocation of the permit and coordination with an authorityThe competent commercial license in the emirate to cancel the commercial license.

Fourthly, the authority may, upon a written request submitted to it by the driver or the entity that issued a decision to cancel the permit issued to either of them, issue a new permit after one year has passed from the date of canceling the previous permit, and the new permit is issued in accordance with the procedures and controls approved by the authority in this regard, and fifth The violating driver's permit may not be renewed unless he has passed the training courses approved by the Agency in this regard.
