“As for our expectations, we welcome any productive dialogue between all states, but in particular, between such key countries as these two permanent members of the Security Council (UN),” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

At the same time, Haq added that the UN hopes that these negotiations will continue to be productive.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that he was satisfied with the way the Russian-American consultations on strategic stability in Geneva took place.

According to him, the negotiations showed the potential for rapprochement of the positions of the two countries.

At the same time, he added that Britain and France, like China, are not ready to join consultations between Russia and the United States on strategic stability.
