The judge of the National Court Manuel García Castellón has proposed to try Javier López Madrid for hiring the commissioner José Manuel Villarejo to carry out harassment work against Dr. María Elisa Pinto with whom the businessman had a private conflict.

The judge considers that the events could constitute a bribery crime, since at that time Villarejo was an active policeman. The investigating judge estimates that next to López Madrid and Villarejo, Rafael Redondo, the senior partner of the retired commissioner, should sit on the bench.

The magistrate details in his resolution the actions attributed to Villarejo since September 2013 and 2014 that he carried out in relation to Dr. Pinto to prevent her from denouncing López Madrid. Among the actions, the judge includes follow-ups, as well as the use of police means in order to discredit the doctor once she denounced the businessman. In addition, he accessed his private information without authorization and tried to interfere in the police investigation, manipulating it and taking action on the result of a recognition round in which he was going to take part.

The head of the Central Court of Instruction 6 points out López Madrid's relationship with different police officers during the investigation of the events reported by María Elisa Pinto.

Specifically, he says, Villarejo introduced López Madrid to curator Enrique García Castaño.

In addition, he adds that the businessman had "a close relationship" with the police inspector who instructed Dr. Pinto's complaint, Alberto Carba.

Between October and November 2015, this police officer "sent several emails informing him of the status of the investigation and receiving instructions," says the judge.

López Madrid's contacts with the police were detected in the analysis of the businessman's phone, despite the fact that, according to the judge, the terminal had been tampered with before being handed over to the investigators.
