On July 28, 205 officers and soldiers of the first echelon of the 20th Chinese peacekeeping force to Lebanon took off by a special plane from the Kunming Changshui International Airport in Yunnan. They will fly to the southern border of Lebanon to replace the 19th batch of soldiers who are on mission there. The peacekeeping force performs a one-year peacekeeping mission.
A total of 205 officers and soldiers from the first echelon will be on the expedition. After they leave the mission area, they will be mainly responsible for mine clearance and explosion, engineering construction and maintenance, sanitation and epidemic prevention, humanitarian rescue, treatment of the wounded and sick of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, as well as before and after. It is reported that the first echelon of peacekeeping officers and soldiers strictly organized a centralized quarantine and conducted nucleic acid tests before departure. The test reports were all normal.
The 205 officers and soldiers of the second echelon will continue to be quarantined for 14 days and are scheduled to leave in mid-August.
