The Saudi-Emirati coalition announced that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed 4 ballistic missiles launched by the Houthis towards Jazan (southern Saudi Arabia).

Meanwhile, US Special Envoy for Yemen Timothy Lenderking has arrived in Saudi Arabia to meet with senior Saudi and Yemeni officials.

A State Department statement said that Lenderking is expected to discuss the increasing repercussions of the Houthi attack on Marib, which, according to the statement, exacerbates the humanitarian crisis and leads to instability elsewhere in the country.

The US special envoy will also focus on the urgent need for efforts to stabilize the Yemeni economy, and will also discuss the need for the Houthis to end what the statement described as their manipulation of fuel imports and prices inside Yemen.

Lenderking will discuss the importance of a comprehensive peace process and the rapid appointment of a new UN envoy.

The US State Department's statement called for an immediate end to the fighting, and enabling Yemenis to achieve a more peaceful and prosperous future.
