Song Young-gil, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, said that if the people's power does not cooperate with the handling of the amendment to the National Assembly Act, which reduces the authority of the Judiciary Committee, the ruling and opposition parties will revoke the agreement to hand over the Judiciary Chairman of the National Assembly to the opposition in the second half of the year.

CEO Song appeared on KBS Radio today (28th) and said, "Because the law is passing on the premise of the Judiciary Reform legislation, if this law is not passed before the election of the standing chair on August 25th, then the Judiciary Committee cannot be passed over."

The floor leader Yun Ho-jung also said on the 26th that if the amendment to the National Assembly Act related to the Judiciary Committee is not dealt with at the Extraordinary National Assembly in August, the agreement will be broken.

Regarding the 'one-team agreement ceremony' between the contestants of the Democratic Party's presidential primary held at the National Assembly today, Song said, "We want to refrain from arguing with red flags and regionalism." he emphasized.

He recalled, "During the 2012 primary, candidates such as Moon Jae-in, Chung Sye-kyun, Sohn Hak-gyu, and Kim Doo-kwan competed fiercely, but even then, the aftereffects were severe, so the integration was a little lacking, and in the end, I lost to Park Geun-hye."

Regarding the plan to visit the United States next month, Song said, "The schedule is uncertain due to the spread of COVID-19." He said, "I will try to support the follow-up measures for the Korea-US summit and improvement of relations between the two countries at the parliament and political party level."
