Shortly after ten o'clock, an alarm was received about a fire in Applerum where lightning struck an oak tree in a cowshed.
The oak and the kohagen caught fire from the lightning strike.
Under the oak stood several cows seeking shelter from Tuesday's storm.
Several cows died in the incident.
But it is unclear whether the cows died from the lightning or the fire, according to the security and alarm center in Kalmar.
