In Skara, lightning struck next to the cathedral, which caused the church bells to ring continuously for over an hour, according to witnesses.

Caretaker Anders Johansson says that the lightning struck the electronics in the church, which caused the ringing.

- It shouted throughout the church, he says and continues:

- We do not know what is complete and what is broken yet, he says.

"Power dip" at Liseberg

In Gothenburg, Liseberg had to close down attractions for a while due to a power dip caused by the thunder.

The stop started at 5 pm and lasted for 45 minutes.

- When we get power dips, we shut down our attractions so as not to risk power outages, says Peter Johansson, park manager at Liseberg.
