On July 27, 2021, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi jointly met with reporters after a meeting with Mongolian Foreign Minister Batzezeg in Tianjin.

  Wang Yi said that the foreign ministers of China and Mongolia have just held fruitful talks.

The two sides reached an eight-point consensus on advancing the development of China-Mongolia relations under the new situation, continuing to work together to fight the epidemic, and deepening exchanges and cooperation in various fields.

  Both sides agreed that China and Mongolia, as friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers and sharing weal and woe, have more and more common interests and similar concerns.

Both sides should focus on the long-term and overall situation, persist in proceeding from the fundamental interests and well-being of the two peoples, and push bilateral relations on the fast track of development.

  The two sides have determined that they will uphold mutual respect for each other's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, respect each other's choice of development path, respect each other's core interests and major concerns, and continue to increase political mutual trust.

  The two sides attach importance to the important leading role of high-level exchanges in the relations between the two countries and agree to strengthen the interactive exchanges between the leaders of the two countries.

China invites Mongolian leaders to attend the 2021 Taiyuan Energy Low-Carbon Development Forum online, and welcomes Prime Minister Oyun Erden and Speaker Zanden Shatre to visit China in due course.

  The two sides spoke highly of the anti-epidemic cooperation between the two countries and decided to jointly issue the "China-Mongolia Joint Statement on Further Strengthening Anti-epidemic Cooperation" to jointly build a health community.

Both sides emphasized that traceability is a scientific work and should not be politicized, and called for the advancement of global traceability research.

  The two sides agreed to continuously expand the common interests of China and Mongolia and promote the quality and upgrading of bilateral pragmatic cooperation.

Accelerate the joint construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative and Mongolia’s “Prairie Road” initiative, prioritize the advancement of a number of landmark projects, and strive to achieve the goal of US$10 billion in bilateral trade as soon as possible.

  The two sides confirmed that they will actively implement the important principled consensus reached by the two heads of state on strengthening environmental protection cooperation in combating desertification and sandstorms.

We appreciate that the competent authorities of the two countries have signed and will soon sign documents on sand prevention and control, forest and grassland fire prevention in border areas, etc., to expand cooperation.

  The two sides agreed to work hard to overcome the impact of the epidemic, maintain the good momentum of cultural exchanges between the two countries, continue to consolidate the public opinion foundation of China-Mongolia friendship for generations, and make the concept of always being a good neighbor, good friend and good partner become the mainstream consensus of the two countries.

  The two sides have determined that they will further strengthen cooperation under the United Nations and other multilateral frameworks, jointly oppose unilateralism, support multilateralism, oppose division and confrontation, support win-win cooperation, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

  Wang Yi emphasized that under the new situation, China is willing to work with Mongolia to continue to forge ahead and continuously endow the China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership with new connotations and new momentum to better benefit the two peoples and promote the prosperity and development of the region.
