  • The Vox reaction "considers relations with the PP broken" after the statement against Santiago Abascal in Ceuta

Vox has moved tab.

He has just presented in the

Ceuta Assembly

a proposal calling for the revocation of the declaration of

persona non grata

to Santiago Abascal.

Vox has publicly demanded a repositioning of the Popular Party after supporting the proposal against Abascal.

The Vox leader considers that with that position, relations with the PP were "broken" because Pablo Casado's formation would have crossed "the red line."

Some sources interpret that with this Vox initiative the door is opened to the rectification of the PP and, in addition, it is considered an act of reparation to Abascal, which would considerably cool the open crisis between both formations.

Vox explains in its letter registered this morning that last Friday, July 23, the Ceuta Assembly approved an initiative declaring Santiago Abascal Conde persona non-grata.

"A statement that does not fit the feelings of the Ceuta people who, freely and in exercise of their right to vote, made Vox the first political force in the autonomous city in the last general elections on November 10, 2019."

According to the text of Abascal's formation, this practice of declaring a Spaniard persona non grata in any part of the national territory "should be banished from our parliaments, assemblies and city councils. It is an act contrary to the fundamental right of all Spaniards to freely choose your place of residence and circulate throughout the national territory ".

"The Ceutíes", adds the letter to which EL MUNDO has had access, "they would not understand that our institutions singled out certain people for defending ideas. Furthermore, this act, cowardly in essence, supposes the demonization and dehumanization of ideas expressed by the national leader of VOX and signed by 3,657,000 Spaniards with their vote. No Spaniard should feel intimidated, limited or persecuted in Spain and, much less, singled out by institutions whose purpose is to serve and protect their rights and those of all the Spanish".

"There are many who have had to suffer the consequences of this ignoble practice that has been especially promoted for years by separatist parties when they directed them against the representatives of other parties and against those who freely dissented from their postulates, reaching the limit of pointing to people in their own hometown, "says Vox.

Abascal's party ends: "Ceuta is and must continue to be part of the homeland of any Spaniard, regardless of the region from which they come. For this reason, this Assembly must continue to ensure that any Spaniard can say that this wonderful city is his house. For all this, and with the arguments previously exposed, we propose to the Plenary of the Assembly the adoption of the following agreement: to immediately revoke the declaration of persona non-grata to Santiago Abascal in Ceuta.
