The Civil Guard and the National Police have dismantled, for the fourth time, one of the most important drug trafficking organizations operating, not only in the
Strait of Gibraltar area
but throughout
Europe
.
It is the one led by
Abdellah el jah
, popularly known as
El Messi del hashís
,
currently a fugitive from Spanish justice.
Within the operation called
Botafuegos-Blaki
, 8,000 kilos of hashish have been seized from caches that are carried out in the vicinity
of the Punta Carnero Lighthouse (Algeciras)
and in the interior of the bay, near the
Palmones
River
.
The investigation, which began in December 2020, has also allowed the arrest of 77 people accused of the crimes of drug trafficking, membership of a criminal organization, falsification of documents and two offenses of reception. In addition, 10 domiciliary searches have been carried out and 14 more in places of storage of the illicit merchandise. Known as "nurseries". 22 stolen vehicles have also been recovered. These were used to load and transport drugs, which led to an increase in the demand for stolen cars, mostly in
Catalonia
and the
Costa del Sol
. To these intercepted we must add two firearms and 15,000 euros in cash.
The police officers have once again ratified, during this action, that the narco continues to be responsible for most of the drug trafficking in the Strait, has branched out the organization and manages all logistics from
Morocco
, a country in which they understand it remains for avoid being detained by the Spanish authorities.
It should be remembered that Abdellah el Jah escaped in March 2019, claiming that he was being subjected to great police pressure.
However, its network maintained its activity in the area and despite the continuous blows that the State Security Corps and Forces were inflicting, with the arrest of its lieutenants, they rebuilt themselves over and over again, as has now been demonstrated.
The actions have been coordinated by the
Campo de Gibraltar
Anti
-
Drug Prosecutor
and directed by the
Investigating Court number 5
of Algeciras.
The agents' efforts continue to be focused on trying to locate the main leader of this powerful network that, they do not rule out, may be able to rearm.
