Rakhmon "spoke with alarm" about the critical development of the situation in Afghanistan and in the regions bordering with Tajikistan.

He also informed the Minister of Defense of China about the measures taken to strengthen the protection of the Tajik-Afghan border and its defense potential.

The parties noted the importance of "continuing close coordination between the relevant services and specialized departments of the two countries," the press service of the Tajik president said.

Earlier, the Afghan President's National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib said that Kabul calls on external partners, including China, India and Russia, to technically help the Afghan defense and security forces fight terrorism.
