This was reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia.

According to the agency, on July 27 at the UN headquarters in Vienna, an interdepartmental Russian delegation led by Deputy Prosecutor General of Russia Pyotr Gorodov, at a meeting with Acting Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime Dennis Chatchavalit, “officially introduced the Russian draft convention on countering the use of information and communication technologies for criminal purposes ”.

It is noted that a copy of the project was handed over to the head of the UN special committee for the development of a convention on countering the use of information and communication technologies for criminal purposes Fauzie Mebarki.

The supervisory authority said that the draft convention provides for the fight against the criminal use of cryptocurrency and crimes committed using information technology, including those related to counterfeit medical products and drugs.

In June, Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Oleg Khramov said that the country had initiated the development of a comprehensive international convention on countering the use of IT technologies for criminal purposes.
