Placed in pre-trial detention last Thursday, the former racing driver Jean-Louis Schlesser, star of rally-raids and in particular double winner of the Paris-Dakar, now 73 years old, has found a semblance of freedom, reports

Nice Matin

.

Referred to the Nice court after 48 hours in police custody and two nights in prison, the ex-pilot, accused of gun violence on a man he suspects of being his wife's lover, asked for a delay to prepare his defense.

Jean-Louis Schlesser formally denies these accusations and will be able to explain them at the hearing scheduled for August 24.

At the end of his appearance, Jean-Louis Schlesser was placed under judicial control although the prosecutor had requested his continued detention pending trial, a requisition that the judges did not follow.
