“This is a self-cleaning nature-like coating with the possibility of embedding engineering, which can be laid without heavy machinery and almost all year round.

Ice, puddles and dust do not form on the surface, which allows to reduce dustiness in cities and make them safer, ”the NTI said.

The main components of the coating are pebbles, river screenings, tumbling stone and agglomerated polymer debris.

The surface layer consists of fine fractions and is smoothed out during installation so that the stones lay down more densely.

The NTI notes that the evenness of the surface exceeds the requirements of GOST.

Bitumen, asphalt and concrete are not used at all, so the pavement has an ultra-low carbon footprint.

As specified, the self-cleaning of the coating occurs as follows: dust and precipitation first settle on the road, and then quickly wash off and flow between stones into the drainage system.

The drainage system virtually eliminates clogging.

Also, utility and electric lines, heating, lighting, alarms, microgeneration of electricity, parking sensors can be built into this coverage.
