Prime Minister Jean Castex and Minister of Health Olivier Véran went to Seine-Saint-Denis on Tuesday to meet French people being vaccinated against Covid-19 in a traveling Red Cross center open without an appointment .

"We must go to people, convince them, convince them, convince them" to be vaccinated, hammered Jean Castex under the tent of this center temporarily installed at the foot of buildings in Villetaneuse.

Noting that many people were "not informed", he stressed that the priority was to give them "basic information", "beyond all ideological debates" on the merits of vaccination.

Questioned by a resident who complained about the fact that the government "forced people to be vaccinated" by extending the health pass, the Prime Minister replied: "it is not us, it is the virus (... ) It is not ideal, but it is that or the worst ".

After Villetaneuse, MM.

Castex and Véran were received in a vaccination center in Saint-Ouen.

This move to one of the departments where the vaccination rate is one of the lowest, aims to promote mechanisms "to go to" which, complementary to the vaccination centers, "are key to allow the vaccination of all. French, especially people who may be far from the health system, "according to Matignon.

Jean Castex said he was convinced that the goal of reaching 50 million first-time vaccines by the end of August would be reached, against 40 million currently.

For this, "three million appointments will be open in the next ten days," said Olivier Véran, who again thanked "the professionals, associations and volunteers" engaged in the vaccination campaign in the middle of summer.
