Antonov invited the United States to resume the work of the Bering Strait Commission

The head of the Russian diplomatic mission said this at a meeting of the Russian-American Pacific Partnership.

“We are in favor of restoring the work of the Bering Strait Regional Commission with the involvement of representatives of the indigenous population,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

He also suggested resuming joint academic research between universities in Alaska and the Russian Far East.

Earlier Antonov said that Russia and the United States need good relations with each other, this is in the interests of the peoples of both countries.
