In detail, the head of the Assistant Public Prosecution Office at the Narcotics Prosecution, Ahmed Muhammad Tamim, said that the accused came to hand over a bag containing the needs of the detainee accused of using psychotropic substances, before he was transferred to penal institutions, and during the precautionary inspection process, narcotics were found that were neatly inserted into the underwear.

He added that the accused denied, during the investigations of the Public Prosecution Office and the police report, his knowledge of the narcotic substances that were found, and stated that he did not know the detainee, and that he was just a messenger from the latter’s brother, and he did not know about the hidden narcotic substances, indicating that he had never brought any items or possessions to A person who is being held in custody

By asking the officials exactly, they stated that they interrogated the accused about the seized narcotic substance as soon as it was found, and he confirmed that he did not know what it was, and he was not aware or aware that it was hidden in the clothes, and that he was in a normal condition when he came to the arrest, and he also expressed full readiness to cooperate with police personnel.

Tamim added that the accused was in a daze after inspecting the clothes and discovering drugs, and he showed signs of tension, after the officials found exactly the prohibited substances hidden professionally by stitching them inside the clothes.

He pointed out that after investigating the incident, the Public Prosecution found that there was no reason to file a criminal case against the accused for the felony of possession of a narcotic substance, and the misdemeanor of bringing it into the facility in any way, in accordance with the laws, regulations and decisions regulating the facility.

He stressed that this incident shows the need to pay attention when delivering any items to a convict in penal institutions, specifically in drug cases, as narcotic substances are tightly and elaborately placed in the criminal’s personal purposes, and the person carrying these items may be ignorant of what they are, and easy to deceive and exploit Confidence in the name of friendship or kinship.

He explained that if a person is caught in possession of a narcotic substance, he will be held legally accountable, even if he is ignorant of the existence of these portable substances, as in other cases it is not an excuse to escape from accountability and punishment, it is known to all that the law does not protect idiots.
