It remains the same: Everyone has the right to decide against the corona vaccination.

Fortunately, those who do just that with full conviction seem outnumbered.

Reaching them with arguments costs time and energy.

Both have to be used elsewhere.

Because in order to achieve the highest possible immunization rate, those who are not fundamentally opposed to the vaccination, but also do not actively try to get it, have to be addressed.

There are many reasons for that.

Sometimes a lack of time is mentioned, sometimes the mistaken belief that it is actually not yet your turn.

Excessive demands in view of the information overload can also play a role.

It is important to make as many specific vaccination offers as possible to those who are insecure.

In the end, there is only one reason that counts as to why someone has not yet received a vaccination: the conscious decision against it.

Vaccination in the stadium

Large special vaccination campaigns, such as those organized by the German Red Cross at the weekend in cooperation with the city and Eintracht Frankfurt in the Waldstadion, will probably remain the exception. Simply because planning it takes a lot of effort. 1000 people had the opportunity last Saturday and Sunday to be immunized with the Johnson & Johnson single-use vaccine and to get a taste of the stadium air. In addition to such attention-grabbing campaigns, it is the small offers that can help increase the vaccination rate. For example, the work of the mobile vaccination teams that people visit in their homes, or special vaccination appointments in residential areas where spontaneous people can have their syringes set.

More than 60 percent of those in Hesse who are eligible for vaccination have received their first vaccination.

Most of them were grateful for the offer.

Especially in the initial phase, a number of hours of waiting on the phone were accepted in order to get one of the few appointments at the time.

It was the motivated who got in touch first.

Now it's time to pick up the undecided, the indifferent and sometimes the uninformed.

The fight for further percentage points on the way to herd immunity is not won with a raised index finger, but only through education and the provision of a vaccination offer that is as uncomplicated as possible.
